ABOUT THE SUP 11-CITY TOUR

Are you up for the ultimate challenge? Join the SUP 11-City Tour and experience the rush of paddling 220 kilometers (136 miles) in just five days, facing varying weather conditions from calm and sunny to cold, rainy, and stormy.

But that's not all! The SUP 11-City Tour is also an incredible opportunity to explore the northern province of The Netherlands, Friesland, from the water. Along the way, you'll be treated to stunning views of open fields dotted with windmills, cows, and sheep, as well as the chance to visit eleven historical cities built since 1700.

Since 2009, participants have followed the original waterways where ice skaters once conquered this historic tour on frozen waters. Now it's your turn to make history and experience the same thrill on a stand-up paddleboard.

How it started
The event was born from the vision of Anne-Marie, a former professional windsurfer, who fell in love with SUP on Maui, Hawaii. She brought the sport back to her home in Friesland and set out to promote it to the world by paddling the original ice-skating "Eleven city Tour" in 38 hours. From that moment, the SUP 11-City Tour has grown each year and is now a truly international event with participants from all over the world.

Don't miss out on the chance to be part of this growing community of water sports enthusiasts, to push your limits, and to experience the physical and mental boost of accomplishing a personal challenge. Join the "SUP 11-City Ohana" (Ohana = Hawaiian word for family) and make your dreams come true!

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Anne-Marie Valeria Reichman was born on November 1, 1974, in Leeuwarden, Friesland, the northern province of the Netherlands. From a young age, Anne-Marie was interested in classical ballet, jazz ballet, modern dance, and piano lessons. However, at the age of 16, she discovered her love for windsurfing and became a Dutch champion at 19 years old. After high school, Anne-Marie chose Scheveningen as her new home, where she focused on the Sport Academy and learned to windsurf in the Dutch North Sea waves.

Her passion for windsurfing led her to travel the world and discover new cultures, languages, and waves. In 1997, Anne-Marie traveled to Maui, where she was introduced to big waves and fell in love with the sport of WAVE windsurfing. She made her debut in the PWA World Cup in 1998 and later achieved a top-three ranking in the world.

But Anne-Marie's interests go beyond windsurfing. She is also a passionate surfer and stand-up paddler, finding balance in her active life through activities like art-painting, yoga, golf, and shaping boards. Her creative pursuits, along with her love for water sports, inspire her to share her lifestyle with others around the world through clinics, interviews, promotions, and event organization.

Anne-Marie's motto is "Dream of life, live your dream." She spends her time on Maui, and a few weeks per year in The Netherlands, and travels extensively to pursue her passions and inspire others to do the same.
